Hybrid + Online Courses

🎉  Now Available  🎉

Yes, the rumors are TRUE!! We’ve been working hard on a number of quality Hybrid (½ online, ½ in person) courses including several FREE training programs such as STOP THE BLEED and our wildly popular TICK TALK!

Back in May, we launched our new Hybrid Wilderness First Aid course for those Scouts and Scouters who need a Wilderness First Aid class for upcoming Scouts BSA High Adventure programs (such as Philmont, Northern Tier, Sea Base, etc.) as well as other amazing summer adventures!

What are the Benefits of Blended (Hybrid) Learning?

With our hybrid blended learning format, you can work at your own pace, complete the online portion from home or anywhere else that you’ve got internet, then schedule the in-person skills session at a time that’s good for you.

  • Get Trained

Our blended learning format is a combination of eLearning, in which a student completes part of the course in a self-directed manner online, followed by a hands-on skills session.

  • Learn Anywhere

Have internet? You can take this course just about anywhere you have an internet capable device such as a computer, laptop, smart phone or tablet.

  • Around Your Schedule

With our hybrid blended learning format, you can work at your own pace, complete the online portion from home or anywhere and work around your schedule. Find time that's good for you — not the other way around!

NEW Hybrid – Wilderness First Aid

OUR NEW Online/Hybrid Wilderness First Aid course covers the same content as the traditional (in-person) Wilderness First Aid class; however, the big difference is that the Online/Hybrid course consists of roughly 8-hours of online learning and only one, in-person day of hands-on skills, practical sessions and scenarios.

Created in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have seen a tremendous increase in the need for students to continue to learn about, and gain the skills necessary to handle emergencies in the backcountry – as well as first aid in general.

In order to practice what we teach regarding utilizing appropriate body substance isolation (BSI) and personal protective equipment (PPE), the reason behind CWS offering online training is for participants to obtain a majority of the didactic information through a self-paced learning, while safely distanced from others.

In order for participants to earn the Wilderness First Aid certification, one all-day, in-person, practical-focused session will need to be completed after successfully completing the online portion of the course. If students are able to appropriately demonstrate skills learned during that day and complete any associated assessments, only then will they earn their Wilderness First Aid certification.
