Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Center for Wilderness Safety! We appreciate you taking the time out of your busy schedules to volunteer with one of the leading wilderness medicine providers in the country. We are often looking for volunteers to help out with everything from filling Gear Shop orders, to preparing teaching materials for upcoming courses – to playing a “victim” at a wilderness medicine course!
Volunteering as a “victim” for our wilderness medicine classes is a great way to not only give back to your community, but also, for those who have first aid or medical training, it’s a great refresher on common emergencies (including how they present, how they should be properly treated, etc.).
Volunteering as a “victim” for these medical scenarios is also a great way for those with little to no first aid experience, to have a glimpse into what happens in a “real life” emergency, as rescuers do their best to stabilize and treat patients and prepare them for evacuation.
